Pocock was a distinguished national architect, his works include Carpenters’ Hall, City of London, Dartford Methodist Church and the Metropolitan Tabernacle, Elephant and Castle (all Grade II listed buildings).		Completed in 1896 and designed by William Willmer Pocock (1813-99) this polychromatic brick neo-gothic church is an attractive and distinctive local landmark with its quaint corner turret topped by a spirelet.
